This project aimed to develop and apply a material that could grow into diverse flora once discarded to create a circular life cycle. The result was the ‘Tulip’ lighting solution made from a composite of paper, rice, and wildflower seeds. The design employs modular design to create a customizable and intuitive solution fit for any home and most importantly fit for the planet.

What if fast homeware could help the planet?

Bold.

The design language and corresponding silhouette are unapologetically understated allowing the innovative composite to sing through its tactile texture and complex colour.

Modular.

The Tulip Lamp uses powerful signifiers and intuitive fittings to create a system of easy disassembly. This invites easy customisability and seamless discarding of the regenerative components.

Fit for any

home.

The modular design allows for a range of styles to be expressed through this solution allowing the user to freely express themselves in a way that environmentally productive.

Built to Last.

The core of the Tulip Lamp is the only non-regenerative component. It’s designed to last countless lifecycles of the lamp with different exterior configurations. The core is also designed with repairability in mind with no hidden screws or adhesive.
